Terms & Conditions

If you, the Client, request Tuition with  ktl Home Tutoring then you agree to abide by the Terms and Conditions stated below:

A. Payment and Cancellations

1. Payment is required, in cash or by bank transfer, as a block booking of at least 4 sessions, payable at the start of the booking. The size of block booking is to be agreed between the client and tutor at the start of the first booking. 

2. Late payments (in excess of a week) may incur an additional charge of 8% of the invoice value. 

3. The tutor requires at least one month's notice for lesson cancellations such as holidays. These cancellations will not be charged unless they total more than two weeks (or three weeks in the summer). Every week thereafter will be chargeable at the full lesson rate. 

4. Refunds will not be given for cancellations.  However, if a lesson is cancelled due to illness, accident or emergency, on either the client or the tutor's part, the lesson will not be chargeable and the fee will be credited  to the next lesson.

5. If a cancellation, other than illness, accident or emergency,  is really necessary and the tutor has another available space that week the lesson can be rescheduled with no additional charge. If no space is available then no refund will be given. 

6. Please make sure that any cancellations are confirmed in writing to avoid misunderstandings. 

7.  ktl Home Tutoring will invoice the Client at the start of each block booking and provide receipts for all payments. 

B. Miscellaneous

1. Weekly homework or holiday homework packs can be provided as an additional service and will incur an administration charge based on the additional preparation time and photocopying required to produce the materials.

2. The tutor will always plan individual lessons for each individual child based on the assessed needs of that child. Completion of school homework tasks is not seen to be a good use of the tutor's time. 

3. The tutor will strive to provide the best possible service. However, the tutor will not be held accountable or responsible for the academic success or lack thereof demonstrated by the student /client. Although the tutor will do everything in his/her power to help grades and skill sets improve, s/he can offer no guarantee thereto.

4. The tutor is not liable for any direct, incidental, consequential, indirect, special, punitive or similar damages arising out of use of this tutoring service, or any errors or omissions in the content of the materials. You the client specifically waive any and all claims arising out of the use of this tutoring service.

5. The tutor will always treat the client with respect and consideration. Likewise, the tutor will expect to be treated with respect and consideration and if this does not occur lessons will cease with immediate effect.
